JAN.7th 2016, Acrylic Beginners 3 pm, Michaels

JANUARY 7th, 2016 from 3 to 5 pm at the Colorado Springs Michaels Store on North Academy near Chapel Hills Mall.
Beginning Acrylic Class in Landscape Painting. This two hour Grumbacher art class fee is $25.

Colorado is in the full swing of Winter. This class will be an opportunity for us to paint our familiar snowy landscape. Adding a fun Snowman character to the blue skies and shades of white will remind us how much we love living with snow.

"Hello Friend" will be our next winter subject. Late afternoon snowflakes drizzle in the snowy storm. Fun, snow covered dips with a low hanging tree branch overhead. Have fun with details like the twig arms and the colorful scarf blowing in the snow. It will make a nice Colorado painting for you. This Snowman is a popular study subject as we learn to capture the natural, winter wonderland in a two hour long beginners class. Together we should end up with a FUN snow painting adventure!

Please bring the following Grumbacher Academy Acrylic Tube Colors to our painting class; Titanium White, Ultramarine Blue, Payne's Gray, Raw Umber, Cadmium Red Light and Cadmium Yellow Medium, and if you have it bring Burnt Sienna. Bring a large filbert or flat acrylic brush size #8, and a small pointed round brush #1 or 2. Nylon or Taklon acrylic brushes with a snap such as Grumbachers Bristlette series are great to use.

Come Join Us! In this class lesson, We will share a lot of techniques and painting tips with you! Please let the 7664 North Academy Blvd. Michaels store in Colorado Springs 80920, know if you will be in attendance for this class. Sign up with a friend for double the fun! Call 719-260-6902 today!

I look forward to seeing YOU and helping you progress with your painting skills in this BEGINNERS Landscape Acrylic Painting Class on JANUARY 7th, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Sign up at any register in that store or online at www.Michaels.com

SPECIAL NOTE: Many students arrive at class with paints other than Grumbacher Acrylic tube colors. Some brands, due to different or weaker formulations, do not produce the same color mixes as the Grumbacher Academy line that I demonstrate with. To avoid frustration in mixing colors, I strongly suggest that you use Grumbacher Academy Acrylic Colors. Just bring a 9x12 canvas or canvas board of any type to paint on. Don't forget a large palette or foam plates to mix colors on, paper towels, two water containers, and a cellulose sponge to dab your wet brush on. Registration must be at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of this class either in store or online at www.Michaels.com

Teri Atkins Brown Art Studio Blog

Hey Everyone !

I'm busy moving out of studio #234 at Cottonwood Art Ctr and moving downstairs into #110. It's a big move, more expense, more space and more wall area for my work will be great. I plan to teach photoshop, watercolor, beginners acrylic and custom classes like perspective. Opening night should be Jan. 25th, 2013. Come check it out ! Colorado at Corona, Colorado Springs downtown.

Just got the celing tiles taken down, the grids reinforced and dusted, and now am painting 50+ tiles a really cool stainless steel. An art experiment, I hope it turns out ! then I tackle the walls, thinking of a grey accent wall of venetian plaster. and then the flooring and moving furniture and art. Wish me well.
See ya there!
